Small Talk, that voice in your ear

Smart, sassy, confident reads that draw the listener in.

Among the many genres I support, I specialize in writing and narrating Audio Description, which allows me to grow and use all my skills to benefit others and more fully experience the world around me, with and without sight.

I am passionate about this meaningful work and committed to delivering the most accurately descriptive and engaging read possible to bring the story to life for the blind and low vision community.

"Thank you again for your help. I'm so thankful for our partnership."

- Katie Duval, Executive Director Medfield TV

Cynthia stands angled in front of a gray stone bridge spanning a sun dappled lake. She points at the arches beneath the bridge, as she speaks into a lavalier microphone clipped to her jean jacket. A blue lanyard hangs around her neck, attached to a smartphone-sized transmitter.

What is AD?

Audio Description involves the accessibility of the visual images of theater, television, movies, museums and other art forms for people who are blind, have low vision, or who are otherwise visually impaired.  It is a narration service (provided at no additional charge to the patron) that attempts to describe what the sighted person takes for granted -- those images that a person who is blind or visually impaired formerly could only experience through the whispered asides from a sighted companion.

Audio Description is commentary and narration which guides the listener through the presentation with concise, objective descriptions of new scenes, settings, costumes, body language, and "sight gags," all slipped in between portions of dialogue or songs.

(definition provided by the AudioDescription Project.)

"I had the pleasure of teaching Cynthia the basics of audio description and beyond and the ways to best produce and perform this greatly needed service.  She absorbed a lot of information in a short amount of time and went on to immediately put that knowledge to work producing excellent writing of audio description for various forms of content.

Cynthia is always professional and reliable, but even better, she is an intelligent, creative and friendly person who makes working with her fun.  If you want to produce quality audio description, I recommend Cynthia highly to help you achieve your goal."
